Experience You Can Trust

Special needs dentistry refers to dental services provided for any patient whose medical, physical, developmental or cognitive condition limits their ability to receive routine dental care in a traditional setting. Treating special needs patients is an area which our doctors find particularly rewarding. In addition to training in general, restorative and cosmetic dentistry services, Dr. Radmand underwent specific training to treat special needs dental patients at the University of California, Los Angeles. Dr. Radmand went to on to teach at UCLA for 20 years, and is currently in charge of medically complex dental cases at Yale University. Dr. Randmand is proud to lend his expertise to helping all of his patients achieve an outstanding level of oral health.

Special Needs Dentistry Patients

A number of characteristics may classify a patient as needing special care, including:

  • Developmental disabilities like Down Syndrome
  • Behavioral disorders like autism or attention deficit disorder (ADD)
  • Psychiatric issues like schizophrenia
  • Medical conditions like back or neck problems, or arthritis
  • Dental phobias, or fear of pain or anxiety surrounding dental treatment

A Commitment to Comfort

Dr. Radmand has a very personal connection to special needs patients. He has suffered from dental phobia himself, and he understands how difficult it can be to seek dental treatment in spite of special needs. For patients who are unable to comfortably receive care in a traditional dental practice setting, Dr. Radmand is able to provide care in a local hospital where patients can be treated under general anesthesia, ensuring complete relaxation and comfort throughout treatment.

We will go the extra mile to help you and your loved ones receive exceptional dental care. Oral health has a profound effect on overall health, and we are committed to helping our patients enjoy all the benefits of a healthy, beautiful smile.
